Welcome to Clean Air De Anza’s (CADA) Official Website and Blog! We are glad you are here reading this with us. Since our inception in the Spring of 2019, our primary goal has been to raise awareness about the tobacco industry and promote a 100% smoke-free campus at De Anza College in Cupertino, CA. The current policy at De Anza allows certain zones on campus where people can smoke. However, these zones are located at popular entrances to the campus, exposing thousands of students to second-hand smoke. According to the Centers for Disease Control, there is no safe level of secondhand smoke. It can impact individuals who have never smoked before and the impact can be immediate (CDC). Our intention is not to marginalize smokers/tobacco product users. Our vision is to create a safe space where every student has the right to clean air.

Since 2019, we have made tremendous strides with having students and faculty support our resolution to make this community college smoke-free. We continue to raise awareness about the adverse effects of smoking tobacco products and the insidious agenda of big tobacco corporations through different collaborations with students on campus and local government. This blog platform is just getting us one step closer to that goal.

This blog platform is to create a space for our students to learn more and spread awareness about different aspects of the tobacco industry and its effects on students like ourselves.
